South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce staff members are recent recipients of two communication awards from Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives. The award presentation took place during the TCCE’s conference recently on South Padre Island.
The chamber won first place for its “2021 Official Guide to South Padre Island” in the Print and Electronic Publications category. The “Official Guide to South Padre Island” aims to bring tourism, new business and residents to the Island. The guide has been produced in-house for 21 years under the guidance of staff member Dianna L. Harvill. The 2022 Guide is currently in production.
The chamber also won second place for its website in the Digital Media category. Marketing Director Dianna L. Harvill redesigned the website in 2019 with the goal to reposition the chamber as a modern organization helping build a vibrant community with opportunities to help chamber members thrive. The website features tourism, new business and relocation information from members of the chamber.
“It is a huge honor to be recognized by our peers at TCCE, the professional society of Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives and professional staff, for our communications efforts,” said Harvill. “Both the guide and website are direct representations of the work we do for our business members and another example that reiterates the nature of our work as the only business organization on South Padre Island.”
About the TCCE Communication Award Program
The TCCE Communication Award Program recognizes Texas chambers for outstanding marketing and communications work each year. Volunteer judges are from marketing and media agencies in Florida and California, as well as from the TCCE community. Judges select a limited number of entries as award winners after reviewing submissions from chambers across the state.
