South Padre Island is excited to welcome back the 15th Annual Walk for Women. This event is scheduled for this Sunday, Oct. 7.
The South Padre Island Police Department along with other City departments will be working together to manage personnel and traffic control cones that will be placed in areas to enhance the flow of traffic.
“Public Safety is our number one priority,” said Randy Smith, police chief. “We want to ensure the participants and visitors enjoy this event.”
Expect traffic delays before and after the Walk for Women on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, beginning at 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. Personnel will place traffic cones on the roadway to direct traffic movement and to minimize delays. The details of the traffic control are as follows:
Walk for Women Event will begin at 10 a.m.
- Orca Circle Drive southbound outside lane to West Amberjack Street.
- West Amberjack Street towards Laguna Boulevard.
- Laguna Boulevard heading south ending at West Ling and Laguna Boulevard.
- Northbound vehicle traffic will be unobstructed.
