We have clients that say ” I paid “X” amount for this property and I have put “X” amount into it when I remodeled. Of course, they are thinking they should be able to add that all together and get at least that much or more for their property. Many of the items are typical maintenance items that must be done and don’t really count much towards the value. But, some of the remodels are actually new kitchens, bath, pools, etc. etc. Even those don’t get all of your money back typically. That all being said, if you don’t remodel some of these homes they won’t have a chance against the ones that have upgraded their homes. Remember, you just have to be the best one for the best price to be the first one to sell.
