Housing Report
The Texas housing market shows strength and stability at the close of 2011, according to the Texas Quarterly Housing Report, which shows what’s going on in 47 of the state’s markets.
Here are some highlights from the period of October through December 2011:
- The volume of single-family home sales in Texas was 46,764, 6% more than the same quarter in 2010.
- Real estate prices remained flat in the fourth quarter with the median price relatively unchanged from Q4-2010 at $148,100.
- The Texas housing market has returned to a healthy balance between supply and demand, with 6.4 months of inventory statewide at the end of the fourth quarter.
