SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Chrome in the Sand is returning to South Padre Island next month.
The second annual bike and car show will feature poker tournaments, a tattoo expo, boxing events, vendors and live entertainment.
“This is a huge event,” said Lori Moore, Senior Events and Operations Manager for Visit South Padre Island. “This is for our community here on South Padre Island. It’s to bring continued tourism throughout the year.”
Raul Garcia, CEO of Bird Productions, brought the vision of Chrome in the Sand to life in an effort to promote more events in the offseason.
Garcia is working with Moore and city leaders to bring success to the second annual event and its attendees.
“We’d like to invite everybody to come out and support this event that we’re bringing for the second year,” Garcia said.
Chrome in the Sand will kickoff at 4 p.m., Friday, October 18 at the South Padre Island Convention Center located on 7355 Padre Blvd.
Friday’s activities will end at 11 p.m.
The event will continue the following day at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18.
Paul Senior from Orange County Choppers will kickoff the day by leading a group of bikers along the Queen Isabella Causeway to the SPI Convention Center.
