Dozens of contestants and thousands of attendees will be treated to world famous shrimp recipes and a variety of family entertainment at the World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off, scheduled to be held in Port Isabel the first Saturday in November from 10 am to 4 pm.
The annual festival is a favorite among area residents and visitors and tests the skills of amateur and professional chefs from throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Contestants are judged on appearance, aroma, and taste of their specialty dishes. Samples are available to attendees at a modest fee.
