Students from over 20 schools will make up this year’s Beach Reach Ministries, who will once again camp on South Padre Island beaches March 12-16 to offer assistance to Spring Breakers who may party a little too hard.
Those with Beach Reach share the gospel with Spring Breakers while providing various free “acts of kindness,” including a warm breakfast, water, sunscreen, rides, a midnight pancake breakfast, sand sculpture and more.
Mary K. Hancock, City of SPI Special Event Manager, said, “Beach Reach will have over 700 students attending and 70 vans accommodating students with free rides this year. This is a record number!”
Beach Reach 2012 will also participate in a tentatively scheduled Dune Restoration/Planting during the week. The students who participate in Beach Reach give up their Spring Break to serve God on South Padre Island. In addition, they participate in 30 days of prayer, and a five-week evangelism training session, prior to the event.
Students will also continue their prayer wall through texting and twitter. For more information on the Beach Reach 2012, call Mary K. Hancock at (956) 761-8315. For more information on Beach Reach Ministries, call Buddy Young at (806) 655-2200 or log onto the website at www.beachreach.org.
