Fire Department
Over the Spring Break period South Padre Island Fire Department responded to over 300 emergency calls, transported over 150 patients to local hospitals and evaluated almost 400 patients in the Triage tent.
Police Department
Review of Patrol, CID, Jail and Dispatch indicate all divisions within the agency appear to be running smoothly. Throughout the course of the past two weeks they received 2,457 calls for service, generated 634 incident reports, worked 59 traffic accidents and the jail housed 445 prisoners, with all defendants having bonded out without incident.
