The City of South Padre Island is joining more than 300 law enforcement agencies across Texas in the Statewide Warrant Round-Up beginning Saturday, March 2. The roundup is designed to target thousands of defendants with traffic, parking, city ordinance, penal code and higher charge warrants from participating jurisdictions. Cities will work together to enforce outstanding warrants from their own and other cities for individuals living within their jurisdiction. Affected persons are urged to contact the appropriate jurisdictions during the next two weeks to dispose of their cases voluntarily to avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of arrest at home or work in front of family, friends, or co-workers. Those with outstanding warrants are urged to contact the South Padre Island Municipal Court for information on how to pay all outstanding fines. For moreinformation, call (956) 761-3225 during regular business hours, or visit www.myspi.org and select Municipal Court Department.
